Whether your goal is to have a six pack, lose your spare tire, have a better life in the bedroom, or simply perform at your peak in all areas, you need to eat protein. High protein snacks give your muscles, and mind, the fuel they need to keep you running strong, lean, and effectively. Luckily, you can whip up these high protein snacks quickly and easily.
Egg “Pancake”
Eggs are often said to be the perfect, complete protein. And there’s a good reason. They’re cheap, readily available, and delicious. Plus, they’re super easy and quick to whip up in a hurry (especially useful if you are a busy, high performer). To make the high protein egg pancake, simply throw 2-4 eggs on a skillet with olive oil and flip them after 2 minutes (let them cook for 2 minutes each side). Now you’ve got a pancake with no carbs. Feel free to add veggies or bacon to taste.
Steak Rocket
Steak is a manly man’s meal. However, it can take forever to cook right. It doesn’t need to though. You can purchase steak pre-cooked to your liking from your local favorite steakhouse. Just keep a box in the fridge for the week and whip it out when you need it. For the steak rocket, add balsamic vinegar, which helps with digestion and boosts your metabolism. Simple, quick, high-protein, and delicious.
Smashing Taters
You can forget your dreams about white potatoes right now, buddy. However, sweet potatoes have plenty of protein and healthy micronutrients which give your mind and muscles what they crave. Microwave a raw sweet potato and throw any kind of meat with it for an instant pick-me-up.
Gone Nuts
You pretty much cannot go wrong with nuts. They have protein and natural fats that give your organs healthy supplementation. However, avoid stuffing your face with sugary peanut butter found in most bread aisles. Instead, carry around a bag of mixed, raw nuts like almonds, cashews, and macadamias. They make a super fast snack with high impact.
Salmon Sizzler
Salmon is high in fatty acids that are great for your heart, liver, and brain. But salmon is also delicious. It’s understandable if you don’t want to deal with the mess or smell of cooking salmon, but if you buy it from the store already cooked you can void the hassle. Pour olive oil and vinegar on it, add some raw veggies, and you’re good to go.
Eating a high protein diet is difficult, but it doesn’t have to be. You can have the best of both worlds by making food easily that contributes to your performance goals. Be sure to implement the snacks above into your routine, and enjoy your higher energy levels!
